About Swedish Wilderness Co

We turn fragmented knowledge about Swedish nature into something usable — one decision at a time.

Swedish Wilderness Co exists because Swedish nature is rich in data and poor in clarity. Information about where to fish, hike, and spend time outdoors exists, but it sits scattered across authorities, municipalities, weather data, and local sources that rarely talk to each other.

That doesn't make us another portal collecting links and summarising what's already been written elsewhere. A typical nature portal answers "here is information." We want to answer the next question: does this fit you, what are the conditions right now, and what do you actually need to know to act on it. That's a different kind of product, not a nicer homepage for the same thing.

Our job is to gather that information, understand what it actually means, and make it usable for real decisions. Not by guessing convincingly when the evidence is thin, but by stating things as they are: what we know, and what we don't.

That sounds simple, but it requires discipline: every piece of data should be traceable to a source and a point in time. When we know something, we show it. When we don't, we say so, rather than filling the gap with a guess. That's why everything we publish is built on structured, verified data — its source, when it was last verified, and a clear mark when something is uncertain.

Gone Fishing is our first tool, built on that principle — it helps you decide where, when, and how to fish based on current conditions. More tools may follow in the same spirit, as we find further real problems worth solving. You'll find a short description of our product approach under Products.

Alongside our own products, we also work — through Swedish Wilderness Digital Experience — with organisations that want to develop digital products and services. That's a separate commercial part of the company, distinct from Gone Fishing and the rest of our product family.
